Jaw Surgery

Well, we now have a surgery date. June 21st at 7:30am. I'm not looking forward to this. I was reading another girls blog (ironically, her name was also Leah) who had the same surgery 5 DAYS AGO. So, reading hers is helpful. She says she remembers being afraid to go into surgery even when they first put the drug in to knock her out. Then the next thing she remembers is waking up being asked questions and asking questions. Next, being rolled down the hall and other bits and pieces of information. She said the swelling was pretty big (there are pics) and the pain wasn't to bad. But the first day she threw up blood twice. So, that's how she is right now. I'm going to continue to monitor her blog as the weeks go by...

It's okay not look forward to it. It will be hard, but Daddy & I will be there for you and so will the doctor and Dr. D.

We love you.

Having faced the waiting on surgery a few times in my life, I can sympathize with your anxious thoughts. At times it seems like in never fully leave your thoughts, and as the days grow closer they increase in regularity. Once they get you hooked up to the IV (if you have never had one, it is a very minor bit of discomfort, tiny stick and it’s over) but once the iv is in place they will probably give you something to relax you, which is a very pleasant floaty kind of experience. It really helps set all the anxious thoughts aside. Hen they will tell you that they are about to put you to sleep and right in the middle of there sentence ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Know that we will all be keeping you in our prayers everyday as you approach your surgery and in your recovery as well. .
