school and more

Hello readers!!!
Well, me... um. I have a 87 in English now. This is good considering I had a 75 earlier. haha. Since I'm in honors if I get 1 point higher then I will have all A's. (Honors gets 2 points added to their average.)
We have a Chemistry test soon. Our teacher is getting married Friday, but is sick right now. :( Pray she gets better soon!!

Do any of y'all watch Numb3rs. It's a really good show. It's a crime scene show, but uses math to solve the crimes. The mathematician explains it in normal people terms as well. It's cool. :)

Between Summer and Now

Well considering I have barely updated since the beginning of the school year and now here is what's going on with me:
1)Classes 2)Sadie Hawkins Dance 3)Encounter 4)Talent Show

1) Classes (basically I'm telling you about my classes, if you don't care then skip it, cause it's kinda long. Go to #2)
World History- You may not know that I am not much of a History person, or at least not History out of a textbook. I'm fine with stories and fiction/nonfiction books that I can read (generally), but other than that it's not really for me. (I do understand the point of studying it, I just don't like too. haha) So, of course, this is the class I have 1st period. Joy. It hasn't been all that bad, though. It's a fairly big class so I do have friends.
Spanish II- I like spanish and really enjoyed it last year. It's much simpler than English. :) My teacher is new this year and seems to be doing good.
Hon. Chemistry- I used to not like science because I was TERRIBLE at it, but I have liked Chemistry a lot so far. Not only is our class small, but Chemistry actually makes sense, which is good. :)
Band- Band is band. We play. and talk. and goof around. and make fun of the director. and then play a little bit. haha
Hon. English- 3 words, DGP:Daily Grammer Practice. We've used this terrible technique of torture since 8th grade. I am TERRIBLE. I don't know grammer, but that's not all we do. The actual course that we're taking is American Liturature. It's... interesting. John Smith should have never written anything to spare everyone. If you've read him you know what I mean. haha. Overall, I really like this class. Our teachers son is in that class which provides a lot of entertainment. :)
Comparitive Religions- We began which an indepth study of Acts and are almost finished with it. After that, we'll move on to other religions to study and learn about.
Hon. Algebra II- Oh the joys of math class!! Our class is the greatest. Every Thurday, block day, we change the seating arrangement around. It's loads of fun. :) Our teacher is great too, she's not only a good teacher, but is also fun. our class has a wacky sense of humor, but for the most part knows when it's appropriate to... unleash. hehe.

2) Sadie Hawkins Dance (girls ask the guys...)
Dinner- We went to TGI Friday's with a group of 9.
Dance- 7:30-11. It was fun. :)
Afterwards- Mi amiga favorita came home with me.

3) Encounter (Spiritual School Retreat)
Topic- "Bones" It was about Ezekiel and the Valley of Dry Bones. The speaker and the music were wonderful. It was great to see how people's lives were changed. :)

4) Talent Show
TONIGHT!
Me and my friend are doing an oboe-flute duet. :) It should be great. I'm so excited. yay!

Well, I'm going to the UGA football game next Saturday!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited! I've never been before!! :D So, this week my blog is celebrating with me. haha.

School

School started back last week! I am really enjoying school (i know, i'm a geek) and I really feel like it's going to be a good year. My schedule is good, except that I have History first. It's kind of hard to stay awake. Also, 6th period my teacher has couches. 6th periods is the 2nd period after lunch so my brain has gone to snooze mode. If we're not doing anything, I'm usually sleeping. haha.

I invited someone to the dance called "Sadie Hawkins" where the girls ask the guys. I did it last year, too. Hopefully I'll be able to go with some of my friends and their dates.

Well, I think I'm going to go to bed soon. I'm very tired. Hasta luego!!

At School

Hello All. I am at school right now. :) Libby Lou Marshall (hehe) is reading which is good because her summer reading is due Tuesday and she's not even half way done. haha.
Yesterday I helped with school supplies and saw a friend that I haven't seen all summer! She played oboe last year, but is switching to art. She's excited and I'm excited for her, but I'm going to miss her!!
I need to ask ya'll to pray for something. There is a family at my school who has a boy with cancer. I don't know all the details, but I know it was gone and now it is back. They have a blog for him which I will post later. (I'm not sure what it is right now.) His name is David and if you would be praying for him that would be wonderful.

6 Weeks

Today is 6 weeks! Yea! I'm so excited! Now I am technically healed. It's rather freeing. I guys it's hard to understand unless you've been in a situation where you are limited for awhile, but I guess everyone has those at some point or another. :)

My friend spent the night last night. That was fun. We had some really good conversations. It was great. We love her. And by the way, you now have 2 families. I think you've figured that out, but your like our family. haha. So good job. :D <3

Oh yea, I got normal colored hair back. haha.

5 weeks 5 days

Yay!! Yesterday I went to the oral surgeon and he told me that I was healed "enough" to resume normal activities and a normal diet. Wahoo! Although, that whole "normal" thing might be a little hard. Last time I checked I'm far from normal. Have you seen my hair lately? haha. Well, that's the good news! 6 weeks is saturday, so that is really when I'm healed, but the sooner the better, right?

Also, if you or someone you know is going to be having this surgery or anything like it feel absolutely free to email me or call me. I would love to talk with you/them. I've also had a tongue surgery where they clipped some from the underneath it because I was... tonguetied? Is that the word? I can't remember, but I had that surgery in 5th grade and there are more to come. I'm going to have to have a bone graft and some implants. So I'm almost done! (That may seem like a lot to you, but to me it seems like almost done. haha)

Bubblewrap

I love bubblewrap. and webcams. :)

MeMe

Okay so my friend, mother, at Turning Points tagged me in this meme.

Here are the tag rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

Here goes:

1. I like to write fiction and devotionals. I also play oboe. :)

2. I have blue eyes and I get comments on that a lot, but I think I've recieved more comments on my pink hair lately. I think it stands out just a little bit more than blue eyes, but just a tiny bit.

3. I'm not sarcastic at all. Nope, never in a million years. Right mother?

4. I still play with play-doh and I'm 15.

5. I've never had a boyfriend. Nope, never. (seriously, i really never have)

6. I have a best friend ever named Eboo who is going to be tagged in this. ha.

Tag 6 people? Yeah, right.

1. My bestestestestest friend everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr: quiet wispers
2. My youth minister : Student Ministry is Life
3. A church planter : Relative Truths

I'll stick with 3. :)

5 Weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wahoo! One more week! I'm soooooo excited. I have an appointment with the oral surgeon on Wednesday and he will give me the official okay there. Hopefully all is it seems. :)It takes 6 weeks for a bone to heal, so techically I have another full week of recovery left, but officially 4 more days. I'm so ready to be able to do what I want. I want to go to six flags. Does anyone want to go to six flags with me? Or go to have a steak dinner. Next Saturday, let's go. haha. Maybe not, but I'm still so excited.

God has enormously blessed me this summer. I'm going to write a "full" ( i guess you could say) testimony later, but He has given me a speedy recovery and has even allowed me to play my oboe. Thank you my dear Lord! He is good and there is power in prayer I can promise you that right now. It's up to God overall what to do, but sometimes God will provide us with miracles, but we need to have a servant's heart. King Hezekiah prayed that God would be with them in a war that seemed impossible to win and he said he wanted it to be so that everyone would see GOD'S POWER AND GLORY!! And God was there. My friends that called me and sent me notes have a servant's heart. Thank you for your prayers. I really should stop before I start preaching as I sometimes accidentally do, but thank you everyone. I love you bunches. <3

Yes or No

Me: You know you are strange when you are inspired by a bottle of shampoo.

Bro and Mom: A bottle of shampoo?

Me: Yes

Yes or No
As you all know, it is a very hot day in Lawrenceville, GA. So, like most of probably, I took a shower after the morning service of Campmeeting. We just bought a bottle of clarifying shampoo for my pink hair and I was reading what it said. It was talking about how it removes gunk without damaging your hair. That's good, I thought to myself. Then it said "Say yes to beautiful without paying the price". Hm.
Satan says the same thing to us, "Say yes to sin without paying the price". Satan convinces people that there is no God so it doesn't matter if you sin. Or that you won't get caught so do whatever you want. He tells us we can do all this stuff without "paying the price" of hell or earthly consequences.
It kind of reminds me of the anti-drug organization that says, "Just say no [to drugs]", but it's even more than that. Just say no to alcoholism, smoking or any sort of addiction. Just say no to lying, cheating and stealing. Just say no to sin. Just say no.
Now while that is easier said than done (like most things), we need to try wholeheartedly to just say NO! We WILL mess up, but we need to try. In the long run it will actually benefit you. I guess it comes down to knowing who to say yes to and who to say no to. Do you say yes to Jesus or sin? Who will you say yes to?

4 weeks 2 days

Thats' how many weeks it's been. 1 week and 5 days until I'm done!! (for now) Campmeeting seemed to go really well yesterday. In a half hour we're gunna leave to go to the morning service. I know who's singing!! guess! guess! haha. I have to go get ready. I'll finish later. :)

Day 25

Man, I'm ready to go back to school. Ugh! I guess I really should complete my summer reading first, but I still want to get back to school. Yesterday I was thinking about why I may want to this year and not the years previously and I came to this conclusion: Past years we've gone to Alaska, Grand Canyon, The Florida Keys, and Texas (not all in the same summer). This year we've gone to: Disney World.... and we had a family reunion here. Yup. We pretty much haven't left Atlanta. So that would definately explain it. Past years I've been busy and having fun, this year I'm at home, which is fine, I'm just ready to do something else. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. Don't like it? To bad. :)
I even took a review on algebra 1 quiz. Of the 13 I took I got 11 correct. That's an 85%. Not to bad.
I even came up with a complete schedule for myself that goes from 5:30am-9:00pm. (School is it's own chunck. I obviously can't include my class schedule.) So yes. Now I go to eat breakfast maybe? No, probably not. I'll figure something out! Good bye, my blog-reading-friends!

Day 19 (i think. haha)

Wow, I feel like I haven't updated in awhile!! haha. Well, I'm doing fine. My face muscles keep acting weird, but whatever. We've been having a lot of fun here. :) We played Apples to Apples, Spades, Spoons, Poker, ERS, and much more. 4 of my 6 female first cousins love playing those games. (I'm including myself in both those numbers) My mom likes to play too. It's very fun. Well, short update! I hope to post pics tomorrow of my fam. We're going to mall of ga tomorrow.

PS. My bruise is fading! My bruise is fading! :D

Day 15

Okay, so I know that everyone knows that my surgery went extremely well, but I want you to understand how well it went. First I will tell you about my recovery and then other people's.

My recovery time:

-drainage tubes (for getting blood out)

2) 23 hour hospital stay post-surgery

-face humidifier (extremely annoying)
-getting drains and IV out
-pain meds
-bad pain, but not unbearable
-can drink although drooling some
3) Home
-pain, meds
-swelling
-going to church after getting out of hospital
-great decrease in swelling with a few days
-very little numbness
-talking, drinking without drooling
-a little bruising
-decrease in numbness
-able to eat mostly normal food by Day 4
-can get out and do alright

Others (same surgery)
1) Surgery
-cutting and securing
-putting 4 (minimum) rubber bands in
-drainage tubes
-splint
2) Post-surgery in hospital

Day 13

Hello World!! Aka the world of those that read this. it's a small world. (afterall) Today me and my brother helped my dad label water bottles for July 4th. I'm so excited! :) I love July 4th. It just might be my favorite day of the year. haha. After that we played pool, cleaned the guinea pig cage and played guitar hero. That was fun.

My mouth really isn't bothering me today. I'm very happy about that. :) It's still funny to see all the reactions of people seeing my hair. It's really quite funny. "I didn't recognize you at first!" "How did you get your hair to turn that color?" "Wow! You're hair is pink!!" (or red, whatever color people think it is) "Is it fading at all?" Yea, those are a few. It keeps me entertained.

Here are today's pics:

Hello Readers!! :D Today has been great! I haven't taken pain meds in 2 days. Today I had an appointment with the oral surgeon and he took out the rest of my rubber bands (yay!!) and had to pull out some of the stitches. That felt kinda weird but wasn't all that bad at all. After that we went to Johnny Carino's. It was muy sabrosa. (very yummy) :) Well here are my pics! (which were taken from my webcam! :) )

Day 10 & 11

Yes, today is day 11, but we took pics yesterday so I'm going to post those and write this as though it were yesterday. So, today is the last day of June. :)

Today was cleaning day. First we conquored moving the guinea pigs into the basement. Miah (bro's GP) has this wet spot on her butt that may a sign of a disease or something. We're not quite sure. My mom is doing a whole bunch of research. Our vet doesn't treat small animals so we're going to have to find another vet. Joy. lol.

After that we moved my desk into where the guinea pigs were after thoroughly vacuuming the room. It looks sooooo good now. I wish we had done that originally. Well that was pretty much our day. OH!

When my brother and my dad went to Scouts me and my mom started puting together a table and some chairs for in the basement. That was fun. ish. lol. But my dad was please so that is always good. Plus I got to climb on top of the large freezer. :)

I only had to take 600 mg of Ibuprofen today!! Yay! I did NOT take a Lortab because I've taken at least 1/2 of one every night since the hospital. And last night I could not go to sleep until I took it. So I'm going to take a break from that for awhile. I don't need it for pain, anyway. The pain has gone down a lot. :) Well here are the pics!!

I look really weird in this picture

yay! no more bruise!

Day 11

We just got back from Bruster's. Yum. Thank you to the person who gave me the gift card! :D I got Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. It was very yummiful. :P

It turns out that our vet does treat guinea pigs. So that is very good. My brother is going to give Miah a bath. Hopefully that will help.

My mouth does hurt some now that I just ate, but overall today is going great. :) I haven't taken any pain medication today. Wahoo! Well, I have to clean my room now. There is a whole bunch of stuff that was on my desk that I have to find a new home for. eh. I have cleaning. I hate organizing more. :/ oh well, time to continue.

1 week

Today offically marks the 1 week anniversary of my surgery. We went to the Christian Bookstore today and got a new Bible. Then we went to McAlister's and i got a spud with sour cream, butter and lots of gravy. :D It was wonderful! Then we went home and I watched TV and did the laundry. But overall today has been pretty good. I guess that's it. :)

Day 7

For the most part, today has been good. We went and saw Wall*E with some friends and it was SO.CUTE! You should definately go see it. Even my mom liked it and she thought it would be dumb. I'm probably going to go see it again tomorrow with my dad. :) Before that we went to IHOP and that was good. I had Buttermilk waffles with chocolate chips and some eggs.

Oh! Story time. So, we went to the oral surgeon this morning and on our way back me and my mom decided we wanted breakfast. (Even though it was... 10:45, 11?) So we called my brother to tell him we were going to go to IHOP and to get dressed. He says, "But, but... I just poured the milk in my cereal." I told him that he could either stay home or get dressed and eat a second breakfast." Not surprisingly, being the 12 year old boy he is, he chose to go to IHOP with us. He ordered the Jr. Rooty Tooty. (2 meats, 1,2? pancake(s) with fruit and an egg) After he was done I had eaten 1/2 of my 3 pancakes and 1/2 of my eggs and I decide I'm done. I offered them to him and I'm pretty sure he ate the rest of them. That is: 1 1/2 pancakes. So that is my 3 breakfast story.

During dinner my mouth REALLY started to hurt. Pretty much my whole face hurt and it hurt so bad that the pain felt like it was coming out of my joints and spreading into my head. So actually, my entire head hurt. It's better now, but the numb part feels weird. It's like a tickling feeling and it's really annoying. I keep wanting to scratch it or slap it or something. haha.

No pictures today because we haven't taken one and I don't really feel like it. haha. Not much has changed except that my bruise has a twin now. Other then that pretty much nothing has changed. Except for that hour or so, today has been a fairly good day. :)

Thursday, June 26, 2008

Day 6

I'm not doing as good today. This morning I got out of my bed at about 10:30 and went and stayed on the couch til like... 4. Then we played Monopoly and went and watched movies. I had to take some extra medicine today. Thank God for Narcotics!! Today a very nice man that works at PCA brought me flowers. Also, I can't remember if I said it before, but my orthodontist actually sent me flowers in this cute flower pot. Pictures of both are attached below. Well, I guess that's it!

this picture kind of looks like a mug shot

Day 4

Today has been good. Still no bruising. I did take 1/2 a Lortab and have had slightly more pain then the last few, but I'm still doing pretty good. We had someone come visit today which was AWESOME. :) The company was amazing. Well, I guess that's it for now. It's been a pretty uneventful day. OH! But tomorrow I'm probably getting the rubber bands out! Yay! Here are the pics:

Monday, June 23, 2008

Day 3

I am feeling fine today. The swelling has moved to different locations and other than some joint (jaw) pain, I really feel pretty good. I feel like I've added 5 lbs to my face. It feels like it's being pulled down. Ew. haha. I got up at 8:30ish today and took ibuprofen which is always good. :) Then I watched the ORIGINAL Dr. DoLittle and then Finding Nemo with my brother. Next we played Guitar Hero for... 3 hours? I don't remember- a really long time.
Then we played "The Dog" UNO. Oh! Which has this extra card called "Fetch". It's a wild card that when someone puts it down they choose a card out of their hand that they don't want and put it face down next to the draw pile. Then they say "FETCH!" and the other players all go for the card. The players that don't get the card have to DRAW 2 cards. It was fun. Oh, and then they choose the color. It's fun. Then... I took a shower which is good. And now I am writing to you all. :)

At 8 tonight on AMC I'm gunna watch "The Princess Bride". Yea! (So Leslie, Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll just watch it on AMC. You can come over and watch it with me if you want! :)) ANYONE can feel free to come over. I am very bored. And hungry. :) Now here are the pics:

Home

Well, I'm home now. I was in the hospital about 28 hours which was the MINIMUM i was to be there which is great. The surgery itself lasted a little under 2 hours when it's supposed to last over 2 hours. Great, huh? I was able to go to church for the Ground Breaking Service and I was also able to stay a little while afterwards to say farewell for now to our Minister of Evanglism. I went home and watched Legally Blonde and TV and then took a nap. I'm quite bored right now so if you are to feel free to call us and hang out at our house. I have a PS2 and Guitar Hero, but I only have 1 guitar so if you have a PS2 guitar feel free to bring it over!

I only have 4 rubber bands in my mouth right now, but they are getting kind of annoying. Fortunately, they are most likely coming out Wednesday. So I guess I can live until then. :) I have eaten a fairly good amount today. I've had some juice, soup, water and a chocolate milkshake all in small amounts. (Except for the water, I have to drink a lot of that.) The swelling in my bottom lip is decreasing and my cheeks are swelling, but that is to be expected. The good thing is that my lip has about... 70% of it's feeling which is EXTREMELY good news. Well, I think that's all for now. Thanks to everyone who is praying! The prayers have obviously made such a difference. For example: I should be a completely knocked out and swollen and not in the mood to eat anything, but I neither of those. My surgery has had the best case senerio and I can credit that number 1 to God and number 2 to all of your prayers. Thanks again.

Sorry if anything didn't make sense here, I am on narcotics! ;-)

Bored

Thanks mommy. I'm also bored out of my stinkin' mind. So if you have my number, text me or something. If you want it then check my facebook or email me. :)

Room 448,, Northside

She is settled into her room with good pain meds, ice packs and other things you don't want to hear about :) The surgeon was very happy with the results and said it was a perfect surgery.

Thank you for your prayers for Leah.

She's out

This is Leah's mom.

The OR called and Leah is now out of surgery. It took less than 2 hours which is great. We will talk to the surgeon soon and let you know more once we know something.

Welcome

Welcome #1: Yay! Someone else has joined the blogosphere! Welcome Libbyzeth. (Don't ask. She knows who she is. :)) I vote that you post and then I can comment. If you need help call me! My texts are running low. haha.

Welcome #2: I am soon going to be welcomed into the world of driving. Well, maybe not welcomed but I'm taking my permit test today and if I pass I'm there whether you like it or not. :) I have driven a little. I drove in some private property and did a few turns and I parked. I thought I did pretty good. Although it's hard not to do good when your going 10mph or less. I'm still gunna stick to parking lots for awhile, though. It's 10 and my mom still isn't up. I need to feed the dogs; I bet they're hungry.

And we got GUITAR HEROOO AND DDR!!! Wahoo! It's so much fun. Me and my mom were up til 12ish playing them. haha. I think they're addicting.

This is my mom playing Guitar Hero
I'm sure there will be pics of me playing soon. haha. she looks so serious. :) <3

My Emotional Roller Coaster

Ughhh... Today has been crazy. It's been an emotional roller coaster which seems to be turning into a physical problem. People keep saying "You're too young to have these types of problems". Well apparently not. There has been to much happening to fast. I think I'm gunna go crazy. I can't even tell you if it's been a good day or a bad day. Ugh. Well, I'm meeting with someone who also had jaw surgery tomorrow. Hopefully that will help. Thank you to all those that are already praying. It means so much. :)

Finally Back

Well, we got back from Choir Tour today. I'm sooooooo tired. We had lots of fun, but we also had a lot of... things going on. We had 2 hospital visits. One had a "spider bite" which turned out to be a staph infection. The other one had a heat stroke or some thing with similar symptoms. She started forgetting stuff. Then, our choir director's mother died. THEN my grandfather fell and broke a few bones and has a black eye. So, that was interesting.
But later my friend who has staph, her mom, and my mom got stuck on Splash Mountain for about... 1/2 an hour. That was without a doubt the best time of the entire trip. We were in "12:05"(am) mode. Let me explain: You know the time of night where everything single little thing is funny? Well we call that 12:05 mode. We were DEFINATELY in 12:05 mode. I'm not even gunna say what we did. There was a lot. If any of them are reading this: AND WE DON'T HAVE OUR CELL PHONES!!! Your not supposed to get it, just don't ask. haha.
Overall, I personally enjoyed the trip. That was my week...

Oh, and Happy Friday the 13th...

Blue's Clue: SING!

Well, we had choir practice this morning. It went very well I think. The concert should be very good. It's at 7m tomorrow. Then CHOIR TOUR!! Please pray that everything goes well on tour. We're going to Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida. I'm excited. Choir's been fun this year.

Well, now we're watching Blue's Clues. My brother was flipping through channels and found it and was like, "Oh my gosh! It's Blue's Clues." He's 12. haha. They had a restraunt. Pretty exciting, huh? That was my not-so-eventful day!!

Stripping my Loo

Today was more stripping. Loo doesn't want to be stripped, except where she was primed. That was a prime place to be stripping. She was releasing some over the shower because of the humidity, but other then that she doesn't like to release her paper. Any therapists out there that want to reason with her? Maybe it will help. She doesn't like me, but once she sees the new paint she will change her mind. I'm sure of it. After that we'll be tight, don't you worry, but for now I'll wait for her. She'll come around.

And now for miracles: Did you know they can happen when you shop? My mom was trying on clothes and I got kinda bored. So I decided to go try on some formal dress, JUST for fun. I found this pretty blue-green dress. Wait, no, me and my mom decided it was "Gulf Green". As in the Gulf of Mexico. Anyway, I loved the dress and I thought, "I bet this is sooo expensive, let's see." So I looked. Well, it started out as $150 and was cut down to $60 and then to $15!!!! Needless to say we bought the dress. It needs to be sewn back up in an area where there is a tiny bit of a rip, but other than that it's pretty much perfect. So in loving to TRY ON dresses, I saved my parental units a bunch of money on a prom dress which I probably won't even go to until my junior year. That was my miraculous shopping day.

Horton hears my burning hatred for wallpaper

If only my hatred for wallpaper could become tangible. Then I could take it and BURN the wallpaper off!! Hm, but that might just damage the wall. hm.
Well, we saw "Horton Hears a Who" at the Dollar Theatre with some friends yesterday. It was so cute! Has anyone seen it? Am I the only one who likes Katie, the yellow, psycho puffball?
5 more minutes and back to wallpaper. :( No quiero. Gross.
Well, Daddy comes home today from Seattle. He's probably gunna be pretty tired. But GOOD NEWS! My brother doesn't come back home til... ugh. Friday? later. He doesn't come home til later. :) I mean... i miss my brother terribly. What will ever do without him?

I hate wallpaper

I really do. It must die. The wallpaper in my bathroom is sooooo STUCK!! It's really quite annoying. At first we thought the wall behind it wasn't primed, but it was, just not well. Ugh. I kept stabbing it because I got frustrated, but my mom told me to stop. haha. I wish we had just painted over it, but to late now! :/
Well, right now I'm watching "Little People Big World" on TLC. I love this show. I pretty much love TLC. It's basically the only channel I watch anymore. Almost everything else is fairly stupid. Well, I think I'm going to watch "Ghost" now. I've never seen it before, but I've heard it's good. :)

My Ice Cream Personality

Your Ice Cream Personality:
You like to think of yourself as a fairly modest person. And it's true that you don't talk yourself up... but you're also pretty happy with who you are.

You have a wild reputation, but you're not as wild as you seem. You take risks, but only measured risks.

You are a fairly open minded person with a wide range of tastes. You are quite accepting of unusual ideas and people.

You are a natural multitasker. You feel alive when you're doing more than one thing at a time.

You can be a big dramatic and over the top sometimes. You are bold in every way

LAP

LAP (Lawrenceville Assistance Project) was amazing. For those of you who may not know: LAP sends different group of youth and adults to (generally) senior adults houses who need help around the house or in there yard. They apply and we accept and tell them which day we're coming. (I'm sure it's much more complex than that, but that's all I really know about. :) )
[Oh my goodness, I'm watching "AllStar Grill Fest" on the Food Network. It is currently featuring Giada and Paula and they are so FUNNY! Anywho...]
We had 4 clients. We did mostly yardwork. I got this blister on my thumb in the most INCONVENIENT place. I was raking and my thumb was hurting. So I looked and 2 layers of skin had peeled off and curled in on itself. I peeled it off, but it hurt really bad! Still does! That was the same day I got dehydrated. That was fun.... I went to sleep on a picnic table with my head down. Apparently I looked like a drunk in a bar. They built a fire behind me; I had NO idea. It was pretty exciting...
There was one lady who had lost her husband. When she saw all of us she was thrilled and overjoyed. She was so sweet. Her utter joy was amazing. We told her her yard would be the best. So, so sweet. Then there was another person who kept adding stuff. We were like: ughhhhhh. haha. We were mor ethan happy to help, but we really would have liked to know about everything in advance.
LAP was an awesome blessing. I think I was blessed more then our clients. I couldn't believe it. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it. Seeing them helped me release some things that I was having trouble letting go. It was a moving experience.
BUT NOW! I have my BED! and I have my HOUSE! and I have a COMPUTER!! This is good news.

Yumm...

Well, my mom, dad and I finished off the chocolatey goodness and icecream. It was very good. :) Right now we, me and my mom, mainly her, are watching Iron Chef America. I remember the first time I saw that. I was at my friends house in... 5th grade? and it was on. They were serving duck. I didn't watch that show for years after that. haha, it grossed me out.
Ugh! I keep trying to kill this gnat and i won't die!! No worries, it's dead now. :) Speaking of dead...
For our summer reading we have 7 short stories and another book. Well, miraculously, I have already started on the short stories. The first one was about Satanism and the second, killing someone. I was like, "Oh, this isn't depressing at all." *insert sarcasm here* Well, the first one was by Nathaniel Hawthorne and the second by Edgar Allen Poe. Makes more sense now, huh? Well, when I finished the 2nd one my brother came in saying, "Leah, I cut myself."
Me: With what?
Andrew: Scissors.
Me: Nice.
*he's gripping his finger*
Andrew: can you help me get this open (has bandaids in it)
Me: Yea.
So, I open it and he lets go of his finger and there is blood EVERYWHERE. All over his hurt and and the other one. It was EVERYWHERE.
Me: Ew, go wash that off.
*I remain calm outside AND in*
Well, now there is blood all over my dad's sink and later, we realized, a tiny drop on the floor. (Don't worry, we got it up. :)) So, we're about to put the bandaid on, but this cut no larger in a millimeter in length is bleeding EVERYWHERE. It was insane. So, we tried to put and bandaid with neosporin, but he bled through that too. So, we put a gauze pad on it until it stopped perfusely bleeding. Then we were FINALLY able to put a bandaid on. After that, we cleaned up my dad's sink, the blood on the floor, etc. and it looked as if we'd never been there!! (Right mommy?) I told him he should be happy I had just finished reading about Satanism and killing, this seemed like NOTHING! haha.
So, I think that's enough gross stories for the day. What do you think?

Graduation '08

What a bittersweet time. I am excited for the seniors, just as many of them are about starting the rest of their lives. They can go to college, get married and get jobs, have kids, etc. But it's also a sad time because I'm to miss the PCA class of '08 so much. They have made such an extrordinary impact on my life. Two of them in particular I cannot thank enough for how they've impacted me. Graduation today was fun. They were so excited. And although I did shed some tears, I am also so happy for them. As I watched them graduate I was reminded that the rising senior class will also be graduating the next year and I'm fairly close to some of them as well. And then just in 2 years a whole lot of my friends will graduate, including my best friend. And as I watch those people come and go, then it will be my turn. Funny, the things I try to hide from catch up with me faster than the things I look forward to. But is that not the case with most things?
I love you class of '08!!

NO MORE EXAMS!

Until next semester...
But for now I can rejoice in knowing that I don't have to take another exam until DECEMBER!! and then May! and then 2 more times after that for each... That's not a long time. hm.
Anywho, I AM excited about exams being over (obviously), but I actually like school. (Is that weird? Good.) What am I gunna do between here and choir tour except get surgical hooks? (Don't ask, I don't really know what they are either.) Update blog, sulk about having to have surgery, practice instruments, watch movies, facebook, write, read, facebook, update blog, sulk, write, facebook. Hmmm.. I'm noticing a pattern. Maybe I won't be as bored as I thought. That's good.
Oh, surprising thing: the SPANISH exam was harder than the ENGLISH exam. That may seem right to you because I supposedly speak English (my family may disagree), but Spanish is soooo much easier. Normally I get straight A's in that class. I'm (hopefully) barely pulling out an A in English. But I guess it was a good thing that the English exam was easy. Seeing as I have an 87 (and I get 2 extra points for honors, so really 89) in English, I NEED that one to be easy to get an A! But in Spanish I have a 96, so I think I'm okay in that class. haha. Well, I want chocolatey goodness.

Jaw Surgery

Well, we now have a surgery date. June 21st at 7:30am. I'm not looking forward to this. I was reading another girls blog (ironically, her name was also Leah) who had the same surgery 5 DAYS AGO. So, reading hers is helpful. She says she remembers being afraid to go into surgery even when they first put the drug in to knock her out. Then the next thing she remembers is waking up being asked questions and asking questions. Next, being rolled down the hall and other bits and pieces of information. She said the swelling was pretty big (there are pics) and the pain wasn't to bad. But the first day she threw up blood twice. So, that's how she is right now. I'm going to continue to monitor her blog as the weeks go by...

Goo-y, Chocolatey goodness

Yum, I made brownies yesterday. (aka mixed oil, water, eggs and the brownie mix...) Oh yes, they were amazing. I put icecream on top of mine. It was still hot and you could smell them even before they were done. I bit into one and it tasted like biting into heaven. The chocolate melted in my mouth and so did the icecream. Yummyyy...
But now I am back to reality and instead, I am biting into exams. Those don't taste quite as good as brownies... Hm, well, Math exam was EXCELLENT, Bible exam was extremely easy, but I can't say that I think I made an A. That doesn't really matter anyway because I have a 98 in the class. :) Uhh.... Biology exam... Yeah, I have to make a 75 to keep my A, I think I did that but it was LONG and maybe 1/2 of it was on the study guide. It was 177 questions long with 2 charts and a diagram. It wasn't necessarily hard, just LONG. But I have enjoyed Science this year, which is a change for me. Overall, My freshman year has been pretty good!!
I want my chocolatey goodness....

Me and today

It was suggested to me to introduce myself. I'm not good at this. haha. Uhhh... Hi, I'm Leah and I'm a chocoholic... I'm also a writer (of devotions and fiction), musician (oboe), and I love school (math, english, pretty much everything). I have serious dental issues. I'm gunna have jaw surgery this summer where they will cut my jaw, pull it about 1 cm forward, screw it in place and allow the 2 pieces to grow back together in a period of about 6 weeks. I'm also missing 1/2 my teeth and I'm not exaggerating. Other things, I am NOT athletic, I'm an excellent secret keeper and I think I may want to go into the ministry. Yeah, I don't know what else to say....

Today: I got a haircut! Wahoo, no more split ends... for now. Soon I will have pink highlights in my hair. I'm pretty excited about that. :D I told one of my friends and her family and they were said, "Umm... okay" very awkwardly (is that a word??). It was quite funny. Ugh, but I believe I must study for finals soon. :( 3 more days, 3 more days, 3 more days... (3 more 1/2 days so it's kinda like 1 1/2 days...)

Simple Things

Sometimes I find myself getting completely consumed with the complex things of our world: fashion, style, movies and more. Those things can be fun and exciting in appropriate amounts, but the best things are the simple things. In this insane world we live in, it is good to know that I can trust in God even in tough times. When I feel the world and it's changing complexities is going to eat me alive, I know I can always go back to God and the simple unchanging things in my life. When all else fails, God is there and so are his simple gifts: friends, family, flowers, and the beautiful things of this world that He created. I am not one to like or accept change easily, but getting back to the simple things helps the changes go by smoother even in the roughest of times.
